Who calls it the Anglo Irish war? Its the Irish war of independence. You don't call the American war of independence the ango-American war. The Irish and English have been at war several times over the last thousand years, why is this one the Anglo Irish war?
Roman Emperor Hadrian changed the provincial administrative name of Judaea to Palestine to erase the Jewish presence in the land.
So many unpleasantries could be avoided if the british just stayed in their respective homes.

All those dead, just to hand it to "immigrants".
And then they give it all away to the EUSSR! If only those nationalists from then could see Eire today.
I think Wilson might be the most misunderstood, or downright defamed POTUS ever. Everything little I've heard about him until now is that he was a stuck-up hypocrite, and basically a coward for the way he alone abstained US from WW1. Instead he was a skilled educator and societal reformist, a corruption fighter, whom perhaps was just elected to the presidency at a very unfortunate time
its almost impossible to win guerilla warfare USS, USSR, British (they won 1)- Afghanistan USA, China- Vietnam Rome- Germany Carthage- Rome Maratha- Mughals And so on

Oh boy. There are no coincidences.
does this count as study for my history exams?
Even as an ethnic Austrian (the avatar is stockimage) I dont think the influential von Hötzendorf was that great of an general. But also it is not entirely his fault that Austria-Hungary lost important wars like against Kingdom of Sardinia/Italy (without Papal State)"Deutscher Bund" and the Kingdom of Italy and Lombardia. Venezia-Lombardy was taken 1866 by the reunited Kingdom of Italy (Rome and residue Papal State not yet taken by then). Only existing 50 something years as territory of Habsburg Austria-(Hungary). The "Papal states" have an entirely interesting history.... Founded by Pippin der Jüngere /Pepin "the Short" Martell (Charlemagne founder of "Frankenreich", great grandfather!) in 756 founded the Papal States by donating territory to the Pope. And this kingdom lasted more than 1000 years! United Kingdom of Italy annexed the "Papal States" in 1871. Overall I must say the last great Austrian military leader before the downfall of the empire was definitely Josef Radetzky( only rivaled by Karl Philipp, Prince of Schwarzenberg and Prinz Eugen of Savoyen being the best military assets the kingdom had when it had to fight...marrying was a better decision...). He fought against Napoleon and survived till 1858(!). If Radetzky was alive by 1866 or 1870 things might have been different for Austrias military history. That ofcourse only under the assumption that the wrongdoings the Austrian Empire had made back in the Russo-Turkish(Ottoman) Krim war didnt ever happen under Radetzky and that Radetzky would be more assertive than von Hötzendorf in 1914 and other times... otherwise the impact might have been less than what Im trying to theorize here). And ocourse the biggest mistake of Habsburg Austria was to not invest enough money in the deprecated military equipment. Owning Dreyse needle guns at the 1866 infamous Königgrätz battle the Prussian Army was superior to Austrian empires which still used the slower Muzzleloader ...But ofcourse Prussia and a United Kingdom of Italy is nothing easy...regardless of the battlefield and equipment.
There was and never has been a state called Palestine

Is there any North/West European nation (other than Ireland) that is not EVIL?
Michael Collins betrayed Ireland.
Old empire.....nEU empire....
A small anachronism is that Ulster is not Northern Ireland Ulster is 9 counties of the province, and Northern Ireland is 6 of those 9.
Militarily the Irish had nothing for the British to worry about, however Britain at the time had no stomach for forcing people to remain part of the empire and this was the first step in the eventual deconstruction of the British Empire.
Battle of the somme 1st day of that battle the british lost 75,000 soldiers
Hard to fight a war when the enemi is within.
Lol a OOTT only 4 minutes long
RIC, not IRC
Quando per risolvere certe questioni si mandavano le Cannoniere davanti ai porti....altro che sbarchi "clandestini" ecc...
altro che "giustizia per Regeni"....
In 1914 a Home Rule Bill was going through Parliament, but the brainless Irish Nationalists didn't want to do things by negotiation, so they launched a pointless war, and yet at the end the settlement was basically the same as they would have got anyway. ALL of the deaths in that war - on both sides - are down to the terrorists who caused the war, so whining about the Black-and-Tans is just trying to obscure the truth.
Of course none of this is taught in British schools during history class.
You mean Irish nationalist revisionism isn't taught in British schools and why would it be?
No revisionism That's always been our history. So British forces didn't leave Southern Ireland after a war? Thanks for clearing that up. I must say hello to the RIC and the Royal Marines next time I'm in Dublin. You're a perfect example of why the British should be taught about the actions of their Grandfathers. Warts and all. Not just the 'nice' bits.
@@awilderireland Oh dear! Seamus has got his knickers in a twist! British forces left voluntarily dear boy and that was only because British public opinion dictated it. Strange how you lot seem to always forget that Lloyd-George, Chamberlain and Churchill handed Collins and Griffith a treaty that differed only slightly from the home rule that had already been planned before WWI then told them to sign it or face annihilation! I mean, fancy wrecking your own country over a form of words! Lol! Even after that the strings were being pulled from London, example being Churchill sending Collins an order to get the anti treaty IRA out of the Four Courts or he would come over and do it for him.
Do the Brits do anything beneficial for the world? Almost every war, skirmish and division in the past 200 hundred years has either been manipulated, caused and/or orchestrated by them.
For 21,000 people to die in a day means someone was killed roughly every four seconds for all 24 hours...
“Foreign and unjust” COULD have been elaborated on JUST A BIT. ;)
I never thought I would be driving a forklift listening to John Cena talk about the Mexican revolution 😅
Israel is a historic mistake made by British political elite
Lies, the Palestinians are the Israelis, that was their slave name under the Roman Empire!
Many in Britain were Sympathetic to the Irish. The Conservative newspaper "the Times" (AKA Times of London) recently ran a series of articles from its own paper , 100 years prior to that days date. In it you can see that even conservative voices were outraged by the unnecessary killing. Angry at both the IRA, and the British forces. the Irish home rule party was the largest party in parliament, and democratic support for an independent ireland was there already.
